Lord Loss -
Grubbs Grady has stiff red hair and is a little big for his age, which means he can get into R-rated movies. He hates history and loves bacon, rats, and playing tricks on his squeamish older sister. When he opts out of a family weekend trip, he never guesses that he is about to take a terrifying journey into darkness. Hungry demons and howling werewolves haunt his waking nightmares... and threaten his life.

Lord Loss is a demon, everyone fears him. All except one. For once, someone has been able to conquer their feelings when Lord Loss has tormented him several times. Grubbs has accepted the truth, destiny is inevitable. What would you do if suddenly one day, your family died a tragedy and found three demons lingering around in your parents room? Once again, Grubbs has suffered all this. After that, everyone around him looked devious, like there was a lifetime of secrets, waiting for him to discover. Finally, he has found someone he can trust perhaps the only one he can trust. My favorite part is when Lord Loss kills Grubbss beloved family, and how Darren Shan describes how he felt and how his heart seemed to disappear. This is my favorite part is because I really felt like Grubbs myself, and I could feel his fears and woes inside my heart. The details in this book are heart-pounding, and they always make you hungry for more.I personally think the main idea is about caring for others and being unselfish. I have read the whole series, so I think its obvious. Its sort of easy to find. The books dont say it directly, but it shows clues to make you realize what the book is really trying to tell you. I understand the moral because at the last book, magicians, werewolves, and immortals form a team, despite how the werewolves can be pretty demanding sometimes.I think this book is brilliant. Perfect, almost. In my point of view, this book is fantastic, I read it several times already and still enjoyed it the same as the first. Its fast-paced, but slows down on real dramatic parts, so you wont feel bored or anything. Most of the people have a least favorite part in a book, but I dont. I liked every sentence, every word. The word choice is fantastic, and you just want to look it up in the dictionary because you dont dare skip a word, youre afraid that you would not understand the story. The point is, the Demonata series includes some of the best books Ive ever read.I would recommend this book to people who like horror and action books. It includes werewolves, monsters, and those sort of things. They will gobble it up like demons gobble humans up.
When i started reading this book, it looked like one book i wouldn't enjoy. There was this spoiled kid Grubbs who was always bothering his sister Gret, and was trying to be a rebel smoking against his parents concerns. I was like "Hell, I'm not interested in reading the adventures of a teenager who believes he's cool because he's a rebel". So i started reading it really slowly without much interest. Then something happened... I won't say what it is to avoid spoiling anything... and i felt it was the most ridiculous thing I've ever read in a book, ridiculous and unrealistic. I had to keep reminding myself constantly that it was fiction with supernatural things happening so it was supposed to be unrealistic. I started wondering if this was a genre that could work for me... It didn't seem like it.I stopped reading this book for a day, and the next day came back to it with a fresh and open mind. So when i started reading where i left off, i didn't feel that bothered anymore about those things that happened, i just accepted them. What was my surprise when i realized i read 80 pages non-stop and was actually enjoying this frikkin story!! i found myself laughing, and caring for the characters! The next day... I couldn't put the book down, i devoured it completely, and finished it. Who would have ever imagined it after my reactions with the beginning!!What do i mean with all of this??This book is amazing! simple as that. And I'm really curious to read the next book in the series to see more of the characters and what's next!!What is this book about?I believe that if i start saying a little bit more about this book i will spoil all the surprises, because from the beginning it starts with some weird things happening that let you guessing what is going on, and you start discovering what it is all about, what is the truth that lies behind, and why some things happened, and it all starts from the very beginning. So for your own enjoyment if you're considering to read this, i won't say anything about the plot.Oh, one more thing I'd like to say. I loved the ending, i don't think there could be a cuter ending for this book. Simply fantastic!
Lord Loss (The Demonata, #1)By: Darren ShanDemons, underworld.. Lord Loss is the first book of the Demonata series. In this book, you learn the cruelty of demons. Imagery in this book gives chills down your spine, and you will be on the edge of your seat not wanting to put this book down. I remind you, don't read this before you go to bed. Grubbs, the protagonist of this book has a really cruel life. His parents get eaten by demons from the underworld. The demons don't have a face, their arms and their legs are from all sorts of peoples, although they don't have a face, the description of their faces in the book gives you a sense of fear. Grubbs goes through many obstacles to find out why his parents got killed by demons, and his uncle helps him. If I was Grubbs, i'd stay away from everything, be glad that I'm alive, and not eaten by the demons. I'd run away as far as possible, although Lord Loss can find you almost anywhere. According to the book, the underworld is connected to the earth by a passage.. Anyone can get through the passage, I wouldn't want to try. I'm too afraid!I enjoyed this book because it's fantasy. I love fantasy books! Overall, this book left a good impression. Although I read it before I went to sleep, I checked under my bed for any signs of demons. This book is going to be on my favorite books list! It's that awesome.I would recommend this book to anyone that likes gruesome books, and love fantasy. I wouldn't want to read it before bed. But I did, and I regret it, it gave me a fright! Go read it you fantasy lovers! Or just anyone in general, that wants a good book to read.
